Home design and architecture inspire young designer
Growing up in Alton, IL, Isaac Musket’s love for design and architecture was sparked by the beautiful historic buildings that surrounded him. That inspiration remained with him when, in 2016, he relocated to Oregon and found his way into home staging. This new-found career allowed him to become familiar with homes of all budgets and caliber in the Portland area. It was an experience that helped him hone his personal style while it gave him the opportunity to consider what changes he would make to spaces if he had designed them himself.
This spark of curiosity led Musket to pursue his associate of applied science degree in Interior Design from Portland Community College. Even prior to graduation, he became actively involved with the Columbia River Chapter of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. He assisted on the programming committee and, upon graduation, became the chair of the committee. As he was coordinating high-level programs for association members, he joined C & K Remodeling in Portland to head its Interior Design department, where he is currently lead designer.
Within his first year out of school, Musket was winning local and regional design awards in the Portland area, and was named to the NKBA’s 30 under 30.
