This 6,000-sq.-ft. basement required a full renovation due to flood damage. The original space included a small home spa, and the homeowner took the opportunity to reimagine the space, requesting a spa area that could make a statement yet still tie into the existing home.

The designer doubled the size of the steam room and added a digitally controlled Vichy shower experience with Kohler DTV+ Digital Shower Interface Control Panel, where the user lays down in the shower under multiple heads. A pull-chain cold plunge was added to prevent overheating. The room has Brizo voice-activated Mystix steam controls, Kohler Sound Tile Shower Speakers and Aero Pure ceiling- mount ventilation as well as a Native Trails Morro 17″ circular concrete vessel cold sink in Slate for ice. Tile here includes Daltile Marble Attache Nero Linear Hexagon on the floor and Medici & Co. Glamour Collection Metal Fused Glass Mosaic in Gingham on the ceiling.

An Avalon soaking tub in Slate from Native Trails, paired with a Delta Faucet Trinsic floor mount tub filler, sits in front of a salt wall fashioned from Himalayan Pink Salt Bricks. A bath area includes a custom vanity with Sequoia brown leathered marble and bar pulls from Top Knobs. The Montecito rectangular concrete drop-in sink in Slate is from Native Trails, matched with Delta Faucet Trinsic Wall Mounted faucet in Champagne Bronze. A toilet is also featured here.

Completing the space is a large sauna room with speakers and a refreshment bar for cold water and towels, warmed on a Jeeves oil rubbed bronze towel warmer from Amba Products.
