Multi-Purpose Home Office

The desire for a decorative but functional home office that also had an area for lounging was the task for Kasoff and Holdan, who worked with Nosan Signature Homes on this project. The relatively small room needed to include an ottoman, sectional or chaise and wall-mounted television, with a work space that provided a display area for artwork and sculptures, as well as room for a printer and large number of paper files.
Privacy came in the way of Weldworks custom glass doors with black iron, which allowed for shutting out the world when work and conference calls were happening. A custom built-in wall unit using Conestoga Wood’s Aspen door style in white rift cut oak along the back wall included hanging file storage, electrical outlets within the closed cabinets, Schaub & Co. Quadrato matte black knobs and pulls, and ample storage. The large central panel remained open to serve as a backdrop for custom artwork. In addition, large linear picture lights from Visual Comfort are installed in the upper portion of the unit to provide ambient lighting.
A smaller formal writing desk sits in front of the wall unit, facing the television and the sofa. This allows the homeowner to work and still interact with other family members in the space.
