Bold and Beautiful

These retired homeowners had spent years waiting for the home of their dreams, something that would be boldly and beautifully them – down to every last detail. With a distinct vision, they worked with Concetti as well as Knauss Associates (architect) and Vistal Homes (builder) to create a custom new-construction home that accommodated their lifestyle, hobbies, tastes and paths of travel while embracing their passion for interior design.
In the kitchen, which connects seamlessly to the backyard’s covered patio, custom cabinetry is tailored to exact specifications to provide ample storage and enhance the aesthetics. Thoughtful details, such as recessed lighting and innovative storage solutions, add to the kitchen’s functionality. To maintain a sleek, unobstructed look, electrical outlets are strategically placed on the fronts of the cabinets, allowing the waterfall countertop to flow seamlessly without interruption.
The desire for a natural color palette presented several challenges, one being that natural color palettes often depend on subtle variations of earth tones, which can appear monotonous if not meticulously curated. As such, the design team selected materials and finishes – such as black marble, walnut and warm whites – that introduce texture and depth. Effective lighting is also crucial since it can significantly influence how colors are perceived throughout the day, so both natural and artificial lighting solutions were carefully chosen to enhance the palette.
