The clients for this kitchen remodel reached out to Lovato and her company via Instagram because they wanted to use Honeycomb Home Design’s Honey Cabinetry line. That request grew into the design and layout of the kitchen, as well as the pantry and mudroom, which were all done remotely. 

Plans were drawn based on the specific appliance needs of the clients, which included having Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer columns in the pantry right outside of the kitchen. The design of the main kitchen included a custom hood, custom glass surround and a comprehensive custom appliance package.

Lovato notes that the company’s installers visited the job site several times to communicate with the builders to ensure the cabinet layout and the appliance package was going to work. They were able to direct them with the best way to utilize the space and meet the needs of the homeowners.

Nickels Cabinetry in black walnut is finished with Europa hardware from Top Knobs and topped with Bianco Superior Quartzite. Along the back wall, a 48″ Miele range is paired with a custom hood. Quartzite is also used for the backsplash, which includes a shelf and two-toned potfiller. The island, which features a black finish, includes the Allia 33″ undermount sink from Rohl, matched with the Litze black and gold faucet from Brizo. A Cove 24″ dishwasher sits to the right of the sink.

On the far wall, a wine and espresso bar includes floor-to-ceiling cabinets and shelving for ample storage. A wine refrigerator, built-in espresso maker, steam oven and refrigerator drawers from Sub-Zero are included here.
