Drawing inspiration from nature, Armina Kasprowicz set out to create a spa-like retreat in the master bathroom for her Clarkston, MI, clients. The sophisticated design incorporates a palette of natural textures, warm earth tones and gentle lighting emanating from behind the large-format stone and tile-clad vanity wall. 

To enhance the spa-like experience, the space features a wet room fitted with a BainUltra Freestanding Evanescence Oval Soaking Tub with a heated backrest, Phylrich fittings in Pewter, and a multi-head ThermaSol Pro Series Master Steam shower. The area is sheathed with Antolini porcelain Sahara Blanc Atech, which is also the flooring throughout the bath, and includes an Infinity shower drain in Matte Black.

Warmth is woven throughout the space, with a custom walnut floating cabinetry, a teak shower mat and custom hand-woven wool rugs. The vanity is topped with porcelain from Laminam. The team also incorporated natural textures, such as Artistic Tile large-format stone and tile, to bring elements of the outdoors inside.

The original space featured vaulted ceilings and an awkward layout, but by stripping it down to its bare bones, Kasprowicz and the team were able to lower the ceiling and add walls to enclose the water closet, which features a TOTO Nexus toilet. This not only enhanced privacy but also improved the visual flow, making the space feel more expansive.
