Contemporary Vibes
MARIA FILIMONOVA
MandiCasa New York, New York, NY
This contemporary new-build home required a kitchen that would follow its architectural geometry and aesthetics. The home’s first floor features an L-shaped, open floor plan with an abundance of natural light. Designer Maria Filimonova was tasked with placing the kitchen at the center of the floor plan, connecting the living room and dining area to create a continuous, fluid living environment.
Filling the contemporary requirements is YOTA cabinetry from MandiCasa by Dario Snaidero. The Ambra metallic lacquer on the tall and base cabinets creates a soft shine. The Elm wood upper cabinets and interior of the glass cabinets adds a warm touch. The black embossed lacquer used for the frames of the glass cabinets, the 18″ Gaggenau Vario wine cooler and the open shelves provide the black accents to match the finish used for the windows and the living room ceiling.
The white quartz island front coordinates with the color palette of the living room. A sink, faucet and two Miele dishwashers are included on one side, with the other available for seating. Across from the sink is a 36″ Wolf induction cooktop with paneled 46″ Miele hood.
On the far wall, a Miele oven column includes a 30″ convection oven, 30″ warming drawer and 30″ steam oven. Also included in the space are Sub-Zero 30″ Designer Column refrigerators and freezers.
The pantry is visible to the kitchen at all times, and also features YOTA cabinets in Ambra metallic lacquer and Elm wood laid out in an L shape. The opening to the room features a black frame, while inside MandiCasa’s black Palo open shelves continue this visual pattern.
