Artistic family inspires award-winning designer
Hailing from a family of artists who display their work in exhibitions throughout San Diego, Marisela Contreras earned an associate degree in Interior Design from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Shortly after graduating from FIDM, she joined Jackson Design and Remodeling in San Diego, honing her craft and learning from the best, catapulting her to the top of her field.
The highly sought after senior interior designer for JDR has been delivering award-winning designs over 15 years, delighting clients with her individualized designs. She goes to any lengths to make sure clients are completely satisfied with every aspect of their projects. Her intuitive understanding and innovative skills are demonstrated in the solutions she creates, always uniquely suited to each individual client. Contreras is an excellent communicator, and with her easy-going style is dedicated to building rapport and trust.
The designer has won multiple National Association of the Remodeling Industry CotY Awards for her projects, and her homes have been featured in national and regional publications, including HGTV, Beautiful Kitchens & Baths, Dream Kitchens & Baths, Cottages & Bungalows, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles, Coastal Homes, Mansion Global Online and Kitchen and Bath Business.
When she is not at the design studio, Contreras enjoys spending time with her mini schnauzer Cleo and socializing with family and friends.
